Ceramica Althea, the ceramic wonder house in the Civita Castellana district. Particular sanitary ware, where to find the toilet seat?

Ceramica ALTHEA is a very young company (compared to the history of the ceramic district of Civita Castellana), it was born ‘only’ in 1994, but in a very short time it has come a long way and today is one of the leaders in the bathroom furnishing sector. We began to discover this ceramic company in the post: “Ceramica Althea and sanitary ware round, square, special shapes…. Adaptable toilet seats do not fit here!” where we saw the latest designer ceramic series and their toilet seats: OCEANOHERAOUTLINE and PLUS. They are all capable of providing a unique and surprising formal twist. But throughout its history it has presented and produced many other special ceramic series that all need to be discovered to find the perfect toilet seat cover.

COVER series Ceramica Althea

As we saw in the post: “The floor-standing sanitary ware is flush with the wall. Soft, wrap-around shapes. Top-mounted toilet seats are needed (Expa)” t the beginning of the new millennium, all the major ceramic manufacturers discovered and proposed flush-to-wall (fairing) sanitary ware; historical and very popular series such as: SFERA (Sistema C) by Catalano, OPEN SPACE by Ceramica Globo, LFT SPAZIO by Simas or EASY.02 by Pozzi Ginori. Each company tried to customise its creation and make it recognisable, some worked on the body of the sanitary ware, some on the shape of the hole, some on the style. ALTHEA managed to distinguish itself with a small detail, which can be clearly seen in the picture opposite: at the end of the top, it inserted two curves that narrowed the typical and more widespread D-shape. The toilet covers for the Cover model, both the original and the dedicated ones, can be found in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik here ]

D-STYLE series Ceramica Althea

This ceramic house often presented rectangular sanitary ware shapes as we have already seen: Outline and Plus were best-sellers. Another series characterised by this formal genre is D-Style. Able as ever to distinguish itself from the competition of other ceramic manufacturers, and taking up the idea with Cover that we have just seen, here too the company’s designers have decided to work on the upper surface and in the final part towards the wall have narrowed it down, giving a formal lightness to the whole. The sanitary ware in both the floor-standing and suspended versions (pictured here) seems almost ‘detached’ from the wall. If you look at the sanitary ware in the post: “Rectangular/squared sanitary ware and replacement toilet seats” you will be able to appreciate the unique and never before seen style of this Althea series even more. Such a special toilet bowl could only have a unique toilet seat, clearly only the original version is available, which you can find in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik here ]

RING series Ceramica Althea

We are in the category of sanitary wares that have toilet seats with very wide wheelbases. We have already seen them in the post: “Sanitary ware with oversized centre distance and their toilet covers” including older series such as VALENTINE by Flaminia and ITALO DUO by Pozzi Ginori and more recent D-shaped series such as STARCK 3 by Duravit and AXA ONE by Uno Ceramica. Althea’s Ring straddles the historical and formal period between the two typologies. A 90s WC that was already flush with the wall and a modern D-shape made it modern, the body of the sanitary ware clearly characterised by many recesses and slits make it look a little dated for today’s aesthetic standards.

ROYAL series Ceramica Althea

Given the success that the antiqued / retro / classic style series have had in the bathroom furniture sector as well described in the posts: ”Sanitary ware with (artistically) shaped toilet seat covers. The Sintesibagno catalogue will find them all for you.(part 1)” where we saw: ANTALIA  series by Dolomite,  RETRO’ series by Kerasan, OLD TIME / SOVEREIGN series by Vitruvit and EFI series by Ceramica Flaminia. In the post: ”Sanitary ware with shaped (carved) toilet seat covers. See them in the Sintesibagno toilet seat catalogue (part 2)” we saw ELLADE by Hidra, CADORE by Gsi Facis and SINTHESIS series by Simas. Althea also wanted to present a sanitary ware with this formal style and called it Royal. A curved shape and a sanitary ware body with important workmanship make it a worthy competitor in the category. In the Sintesibagno store you will find toilet seats in the white colour varinate [ clik here ] and in the black colour variant [ clik here ]

We have seen other sanitary wares made by Althea and their toilet seat covers. It could be that you have not found your sanitary ware and therefore do not know which toilet seat to order. No problem, just send us an e-mail to info@sintesibagno.it or a WhatsApp message to 3341288978 with two pictures of your sanitary ware and a few measurements and we will be able to help you choose.
