Sanitary ware called like mountains and rivers. We find their toilet seats in the Sintesibagno catalogue.

We have discovered in some previous posts ceramic series and their toilet seats that have been named after cities, regions and localities. In the first of these previous posts: ”Sanitaryware named after cities and towns. Search by name in the Sintesibagno toilet cover catalogue (part 1)” we have already seen: PIEMONTE by Pozzi Ginori, EMILIA by Vavid and ROMA by Catalano. In the next one: ”Sanitary series with city and locality names. How do I find a toilet seat cover? The Sintesibagno catalogue is ready to help you. (part 2)” we have seen: ERICE by Cesame, PETRA by Dolomite, PAESTUM by Ceramica Globo and PIENZA by Ceramiche Senesi.

MONTEBIANCO series Pozzi Ginori

One of the iconic series in the bathroom furnishing world that has been produced for a century now could only be named after the highest and most beautiful mountain in Europe: Montebianco (Wikipedia). Montebianco sanitary ware was designed by Guido Andlovitz and introduced as far back as 1925 by Richard Ginori (as we said a moment ago, it has been produced by the company for 100 years). Despite a series of different restyling, they have survived to the present day and are still present in the current Pozzi Ginori catalogue (a few months ago the Pozzi Ginori brand became part of the multinational group Geberit). As the catalogue itself states: “a timeless success. Montebianco is the historic bathroom line that keeps its timelessness intact. A modern classic”. Its round top shape and parallelepiped body that widens towards the floor make it unmistakable. In all product sectors there is always a company that breaks new ground, and competitors seeing that this brings success follow suit. In bathroom furniture, too, this has often happened. There have been legendary companies that have created styles and trends that are difficult to imitate. This is the case of Ideal Standard with its Conca toilet and Pozzi Ginori (Richard Ginori) and its Montebianco sanitary ware. On this subject we wrote the post: ”And then comes ‘Montebianco’ Classic/antique sanitary fittings and their toilet seats (part 2)” and the series inspired by it: ALBANO Vitruvit, LUTEZIA Senesi, PALLADIO Sbordoni and LONDRA Simas. The toilet seat can be found in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik here ]

GRAN SASSO series Hatria (ex Spea)

The name of the highest mountain in the Apennines is perfect for this large vase that Hatria produced: Gran Sasso (Wikipedia). Together with the sanitary ware we saw in the post: “Large sanitaryware (old models) and their unobtainable toilet covers” ITALICANORDICAAMICASYNUA and LAGO starting in the 70s and for a good part of the 80s brought large sizes into the bathrooms of Italians. There was a new trend that led to the shapes of sanitary ware increasing in volume, the size standard of WCs went from 50/52 cm to much larger sizes, reaching 55, 56, 57 cm and in some cases even 60 cm and more. As a consequence of this growth, toilet seats have also increased in size, and to fit these fixtures they must be of the correct size. When searching for a replacement in shopping centres and DIY stores, one quickly realises that the normal and universal seats currently on the market are incredibly small and out of proportion for sanitary fixtures with those dimensions. Toilet seats measuring 50, 51, 52 cm and perhaps 53 cm in length can hardly be considered a standard size. Gran Sasso is a toilet strongly inspired by the better known Italica by Pozzi Ginori. It differs at the top where it tends to widen slightly in the middle part. Its toilet seats in the size 50 / 51 x 36 cm and in the official colours: white, champagne, mink and green can be found in the store at the following link [ apri LINK ]

Ceramica Dolomite (i)

From their website we take this passage: ‘As the name suggests, Ceramica Dolomite was born at the foot of those mountains that rise from Belluno to beyond the Austrian border: in Trichiana in 1965. The call to the mountains evokes for the men who live and work there concreteness of ideas, practicality of purpose and a solid conviction in facing the obstacles that separate them from success. Ceramica Dolomite, in its sector, has made this entrepreneurial spirit the reason for its success.” So the Dolomites (Wikipedia) refer to the name of this ceramic company that has conquered the bathroom furniture market since the 60s. A company that throughout its history has produced one after another ceramic series that have all become best sellers. We have dedicated several posts to it because its products have in all decades (’60s, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s and 2000s) regularly conquered the market and customers’ taste in an incredible way. In previous posts we have already seen: CLODIA (“Sanitaryware from the 80s and 90s. Finding the toilet seat cover”), LAGO (“Large sanitaryware (old models) and their unobtainable toilet covers”), RIO and FLEO (“The old Dolomite ceramic series”), EBLA (“Sanitary ware with rectangular shapes. Why do all toilet seat covers for this toilet look the same?”), QT70 (“Old sanitaryware models no longer in production. Where can I find the toilet seat cover?”), PERLA and SWEET LIFE (”Narrow WCs and bidets. Measurements less than 35 cm in width. What are the toilet seat covers for these sanitary ware fixtures?“), ZELIG (”Round sanitaryware as a circle + flat element”), ANTALIA (”Retro Classical English Style Sanitaryware and their covers”), EPOCA (”Sanitary ware with raised top. WC covers with 45° fixing hinges (part 1)”), CHARLOTTEALPINAZAGARA (Dolomite sanitaryware old models. Let’s find the toilet seat cover (part 2)), DAHLIANOVELLA e NOVELLA MINIPIANO DESIGN e GARDA (“Dolomite sanitaryware from the 90s. Small formal revolutions that conquered the market (part 3)“)
