The first thing we would like to say is that ‘universal’ cartridges, i.e. cartridges that fit or are good for all mixers, cannot exist on the market. But what needs to be assessed to see if a cartridge will fit my mixer? We will see that there are many elements that make up a cartridge. Certainly the first step is to arm ourselves with a calibre and check the diameter of the cartridge.

Cartridge control lever
After checking the diameter of the cartridge, the second step is to check the shape of the lever. The main shape is square, but we can find the cylindrical stem and the lever with a broach finish. In some models there is a thread at the top of the lever where the lever is screwed in.
Cartridge base and feet
Having checked the diameter of the cartridge and found the correct lever, we move on to look at the bottom of the cartridge. You may find a flat bottom, in which case the small pins and their positioning should be checked. Or you may find the shaping of the mixed water distribution in the body of the tap. If you look at the pictures on the site you will most likely recognise it.
Always also check the total height of the cartridge!
