From the Pozzi Ginori 2001 catalogue today we discover the Atena series and its toilet seat cover.

From the Pozzi Ginori 2001 catalogue today we discover the Atena series and its toilet seat cover.

It was the company’s last catalogue before he took over as art director Citterio. Of the series to come, given its sales success, we talked about it in the post: “Antonio Citterio and the partnership with Pozzi-Ginori. Legendary ceramic series and their toilet seats” discovering: EASY500 and 900.

Also in that catalogue, however, were ceramic series that reached the top of the sales charts. In the post: “Pozzi Ginori production under artistic direction Citterio and after the success of Italo, Square, Italica and Piemontesina” we had ceramic series of the calibre of: LINEAYDRAOASIFANTASIACOLIBRI’IDEA.

From that catalogue we deliberately left out one series that was very special. It was called Athena.

It was a choice related to the fact that due to its special shape, there was no DEDICATED toilet seat cover in our online catalogue. Here is their description, which you can find on our website: “Let’s start with the DEDICATED products. [ Insight/Video on ‘Dedicated‘]
To make this type of toilet seat, we start with the shape of the toilet bowl, based on which we construct a very precise template from which the final product will be moulded. Over the years, customers who have purchased this type of seat have had more than satisfactory feedback, often reporting to us that they find the dedicated seats better than the original seats previously purchased in combination with the sanitary ware! DEDICATED’ are not adaptable, universal, compatible toilet seats… they are, on the contrary, comparable to “made-to-measure clothes”, i.e. designed and manufactured solely for a specific model of toilet bowl/wc!
” But only so far a compatible (which you will still find available in its thermoset version, howevere HERE the LINK.

But let’s start with the shape of the sanitary ware to understand why a custom-made toilet seat was needed. If you look at the data sheet in the picture above you can see that the toilet bowl at the sides does not have two parallel straight lines as in many D-shaped or rectangular sanitary wares, but rather accidents. In fact, the sanitary ware starts wider at the back and then narrows in the direction of the user.

We had a toilet seat cover moulded for this template and it is finally available in the Sintesibagno store at the following LINK (Clik HERE).

Today we looked at a series of Pozzi Ginori sanitary ware and its particular toilet seat cover. If you are sure you have these sanitary wares you can proceed to purchase. However, if you are still in doubt about which toilet seat cover to look for for your toilet in the bathroom, we suggest you send us an e-mail to info@sintesibagno.it or a WhatsApp message to 3341288978 with two pictures of your sanitary ware and a few measurements and we will be able to help you choose.
