Old rectangular sanitary ware no longer in production. Special toilet seats for very old shapes. (part 3)

Throughout the history of bathroom design many ceramic companies have tried their hand at producing rectangular shaped sanitary ware. Most of these series are now out of production and finding a toilet seat is often very difficult. In other previous posts we have already seen WCs of this type and suggested the link where to find their toilet seat. In the post: ”Sanitayware rectangular shapes. Why do all toilet seats for this toilet look the same?” we have seen: CONCA by Ideal Standard, VELARA by Ideal Standard, CLIO by Ceramica Globo, EBLA by Ceramica Dolomite, TERRA by Ceramica Flaminia, SPACE STONE by Ceramica Globo, FROZEN by Ceramica Simas, VERSO by Ceramica Catalano, OUTLINE by Ceramica Althea and the most recent series by Pozzi Ginori (Geberit) METRICA. In the post: ”Older, discontinued models with rectangular toilet seats. (part 2)” we have seen : CIOTTOLO and SPRINT by Ceramica Flaminia, FIESTA and IGEA by Ceramica Catalano, HIDRA by Hidra Ceramica, ADDA by Ceramica Facis. Today we will look at other sanitary ware and their covers, most of them older than the series we have already met, some produced in the 60s and 70s.

ALFANA series by Tenax

A very unusual vase. As well as being rectangular in shape, it also had a sloping top. That’s why in this case the toilet seat protectors have to be perfectly positioned to avoid annoying slipping of the toilet seat on the upper surface. It was produced in white and champagne colour and you can find both toilet seat covers in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik here ]

BR UNO series by Tenax

Although it was considered a rectangular shape, Tenax modified it with this successful sanitary ware to create a revolutionary geometric shape. In practice, by reducing the size of one of the two short sides (the rear one) and replacing the two straight lines with two curves, he created the BR UNO shape. It is a toilet bowl and its cover with large dimensions. Only one toilet seat can be mounted on a toilet of this shape. This toilet seat is also available in the store at the following link [ clik here ]

SIMETO series by Ceramica Simas

YURA series by Kerasan

With this vase, Kerasan (a company we talked about in the post: ”Kerasan sanitaryware crosses all styles of bathroom furniture. Toilet seats in all shapes. (part 1)” and in the post: ”The modern Kerasan ceramic series. Tailor-made thermosetting toilet seats. (part 2)”, it was the first sanitary fitting company to reduce (in rectangular shapes) the upper support surface of the toilet seat, compared to the body of the sanitary fitting which descends towards the floor. Especially in this situation the toilet seat must be precise to the dimensions of the support surface to avoid an unsightly step that would be created with a wider toilet seat. You can find the cover for this toilet seat at the following link [ clik here ]

EDOS series by Hatria (Spea Ceramiche)

We have already met this fantastic company in the post: ”HATRIA Ceramiche. Creative genius. The ceramic series of a 2.0 company.”, dove we have seen its ultra-modern sanitary ware: SCULTUREYOU&MEDAYTIME and DOLCEVITA. When this company was called Spea they produced this large rectangular sanitary ware. It was called EDOS and was produced in white and champagne. Both toilet seats can be found in the store at the following links [ clik here  White] [ clik here Champagne]

We have seen some discontinued rectangular sanitary ware and their covers, it could be that you have not found your sanitary ware and therefore do not know which cover to order. No problem, just send us an email to info@sintesibagno.it or a WhatsApp message to 3341288978 with two pictures of your toilet seat and a few measurements and we will be able to help you choose.
