The ceramic manufacturers in the Civita Castellana district. Sintesibagno helps you to find toilet seats for these WCs. (part 2)

We started talking about this well-known ceramic district in the post: ”The companies in the Civita Castellana district and their sanitary ware. Looking for toilet seats? The Sintesibagno catalogue helps you (part 1)” where we have already met the following ceramic companies and their sanitary ware: Ceramica Althea Civica Castellana – Outline Series, Ceramica Kerasan Civita Castellana – Retrò Series, Ceramica Globo Civita Castellana – the OPEN SPACE project, Ceramica Azzurra Civita Castellana – Series FULL 48 54 56. Today, looking at others with their sanitary ware and toilet seats, we are once again surprised by the quantity of the Made in Italy offer.

Ceramica Flaminia Civita Castellana

The WORK IN PROGRESS project (Link – Spin – Terra)
From their site: ceramicaflaminia.it we discover that: “The unsuccessful strikes of 1954, following wage claims in the Civita Castellana ceramics companies, convinced 23 young workers to set up on their own and establish Ceramica Flaminia, a company that would start producing sanitary ware in January 1955. “So, more than half a century of history that led this ceramic company, on the strength of the experience and production capacity it had accumulated, to present itself at the turn of the 2000s with a revolutionary project, again from their website: “In 1996 the transformation into a joint-stock company took place and a few months later the “revolution” began, which was to take concrete form with the entry into the company of Roberto Palomba, who took over as artistic director and began designing new products together with Ludovica Serafini. It was decided to focus on design to innovate sanitary ware and the bathroom environment, also making use of external collaborations, such as the one that in 1997 led Giulio Cappellini to create the product that was the icon of change: the Acquagrande washbasin. It will be all the sanitaryware series that will make up the project: Work in progress. This expression identified the new ‘design line’ that was shortly to be enriched with new articles. A production with a strong stylistic impact that was promoted in the press and in company catalogues with strong images and innovative furnishing solutions. Exemplifying this new way of designing ceramic sanitary ware with a high degree of innovation are products such as Acquagrande (square-shaped, generously sized washbasin), Link (wall-hung WC and bidet with exposed waste and without fixing holes), Twin Column (pedestal washbasin for the centre of the room), Twin Space (shower basin in the middle of the wall)’ and especially the sanitary ware lines LINKSPIN and TERRA which we described well in the post: ”The FLAMINIA design series. Not just WCs and bidets, but LINK, SPIN, TERRA…. and their original toilet seats.

Ceramica Simas Civita Castellana

Frozen series
From their Simas.it website we discover that: “Since 1955 creativity in ceramic sanitaryware. Strictly made in Italy to build contemporary trends that last. 12 July 1955. Simas was founded in Civita Castellana – even then an area with a high level of craftsmanship handed down from father to son – by 44 workers at a time when it was customary to create companies with ‘working capital’, i.e. people who were experts in production processes. In 1961, the original Società Italiana Manufatti Articoli Sanitari purchased the first tunnel kiln about 50 metres long and fuelled by diesel. In 1967, they added another one to the existing one, about 70 metres long, and switched from dip coating to pistol spraying. The years from 1972 to 1978 saw further structural growth. The existing 110-metre tunnel kiln, also diesel-powered, was added, and overhead conveying and drying chains were installed for an impressive 7 km. In 1979 the production process became fully operational, and in the early eighties the mechanisation of the casting department, with low-pressure machines, and the painting department, with spraying robots. In the nineties the mechanisation of the departments was completed and in some cases renewed. In 2004, the company name changed: from a limited liability company to a joint stock company with 70 partners, 125 employees, 250 thousand pieces produced per year and a sales network covering the national territory through the distributor channel. 12 July 2005. Simas celebrates fifty years: it carries out the restyling of its Civita Castellana headquarters under the banner of blue and transparency as the pay-off “Simas Acqua Space” calls for, it inaugurates Spazio Simas in Milan, a meeting and working place for architects, designers and specifiers, and publishes a special Memorandum. A company for which design has had an increasingly incisive character since the 1970s. The collaboration with the Californian designer Terri Pecora is decades old and the collaboration with the architect Simone Micheli is recent. Simas has long paid particular attention to communication, also via the web with areas dedicated to architects and designers. Last but not least, the sponsorship of events related to academic training and culture. Simas, today as yesterday, is a reality made up of people who are committed to giving concrete form to projects in which everyone works according to their own skills. To build, together, trends. Strictly made in Italy.”This company also has more than half a century of experience and craftsmanship moulded into its DNA. In the early 2000s, all these skills gave rise to an iconic series of sanitary ware: FROZEN. In the post: ”The winner is…. our special ranking of rectangular sanitary ware and their covers.” we have seen how competing ceramic companies have tried to interpret the rectangular shape as best they can with Frozen. You can find the WC covers for these sanitary ware products in the store at the following link [ clik here ]

Ceramica Catalano Civita Castellana

Zero Sistem
A sanitary ceramics system that has indelibly marked the design of the bathroom world. We have explored this topic in detail in the post: ”The Catalano Zero toilet seat cover. How many models are there in this series? Zero 45,50,54,55,62, Light, +” where we saw the ceramic company’s formal revolution in the early 2000s. We discovered that the sanitary ware and their toilet seats that are part of this system, although they all have the ZERO prefix, have completely different shapes and sizes: ZERO 45ZERO 50/55ZERO 54ZERO+ and ZERO LIGHT. Wall-hung and floor-standing sanitary ware, modern D-shapes and even a compact and small line (Zero light) to compete with other ceramic manufacturers in a fast-growing sector, we discussed in the post: “Sintesibagno® selects from its toilet seat catalogue the ten SMALL SANITARIES that have made history in this category.

Today we have seen other companies from the ceramic district of Civita Castellana that are very important for the entire bathroom furnishing world.
