The Simas ceramic series and their toilet seats. Old models and the latest innovations. (part 2)
In previous posts we started to look at some models of WCs and bidets from the Civita Castellana-based company SIMAS (Società Italiana Manufatti Articoli Sanitari – Italian Society of Sanitary Manufactures). All toilet seat covers for new and dated series.(part 1)” we saw: Series ARCADE Old England, Series LONDRA Old England, Series FLOW, Series BOHEMIEN (Acqua SPACE), Series LFT Space (Acqua Space) and Series SYNTESIS / SINTHESIS. FROZEN series Ceramica Simas
It is the company’s sanitary ware series that has earned it a place among the queens of style and design. We have often described it as the sanitaryware series that best represents the rectangular shape category. (see post: “Legendary sanitaryware. They create shapes, styles and colours then sought after by all. We find the right toilet seat in these iconic bowls.(part 1)“) In the post where we talked about all rectangular/square sanitaryware and the replacement toilet seat we talked about it like this: “…perfection of form. As I said, the point of arrival of design that seeks to create a product that when talking about its category is always mentioned. That’s right, in the bathroom furnishing sector, when it comes to square/rectangular sanitary ware, the point of reference is this series produced by Simas. It could only be called Frozen. We still remember the moment when it was presented to the insiders, it left everyone speechless! It was either the typical product that you fell madly in love with at first sight or you just saw it as a provocation by some design creative. The fact remains that you had to give it just one look. In terms of sales, it was quite successful. Not a best seller, but that was only due to the high cost of the elements, which was amply justified given the production costs, but not affordable for everyone“.. GAMMA series Ceramica Simas
A typically ’70s and ’80s shaped bowl. Square shape with rounded corners. Inspired in style for sure by the market prince of the period: SQUARE by Pozzi Ginori. The distinctive element of this Simas toilet seat is certainly in the floor-standing body where there is an interesting change of depth that lightens the figure. GATE series Ceramica Simas
Sanitary from the ’90s. A very light base supports the very slender forward upper part. Shape seen from above that almost falls into the oval category. We can consider it a small-sized toilet bowl, its cover with fixing holes measures only 39/40 cm. It is available in the Sintesibagno store at the following link [ clik here ]
SLY series Ceramica Simas
Always a ’90s production of the company. Probably influenced by the shape of Gate (the forward thrust of the upper part of the toilet), Sly is larger in size and changes from an oval to an almost triangular shape. BIARRITZ series Ceramica Simas
A series that falls into the category of retro/antique lines, where we have seen that the company is highly specialised and well positioned in the market thanks to the two well-known series: ARCADE and LONDRA.
